About

I find writing descriptions of any sort impossible and end up with the typical “This is what this is” type deal but writing a description about myself is definitely the hardest so I’ll just tell you quickly that I’m addicted to the acoustic guitar and I’m from a small town not far from Birmingham, England. I started playing guitar around the age of 12 when I first moved to high school and probably like a lot of guys my age this was after seeing Nirvana Smell’s Like Teen Spirit on TV. Long story short about 4 years ago my obsession in guitar spiralled out of control when I discovered Chet Atkins and Merle Travis.

I’ve been making test videos and recordings for some years but It’s taken me a long time to get to where I’m happy to post what I’ve been working on on the guitar and be happy with the results I’m able to produce with the equipment that I currently have. Although I’m happy with the results I want them to be better so hopefully that’s what you’ll see with each new video.

Daniel, you’re post of Everly’s Rag is wonderful. You have, indeed, been working hard. I got to see Ike Everly play live a long time ago (1968?) in Chicago. He was one of a kind. I love it that you use Merle’s technique for the tune. I’m looking forward to more from you.

Hi Mark, thanks so much, glad you like it! I would have loved to have seen Ike play live, the only video I’ve ever found of Ike picking was in a Johnny Cash Show Christmas Special where Ike played a great version of Cannonball Rag, I’ve watched that video many many times!
